Non iron shirt

So, we bought a a non iron shirt from Marks and Spencer’s. Get it home, unwrap it and hang it up overnight. Still heavily creased and will need to be ironed before I can wear it for the first time or indeed even wash it. How does that work? How do these companies get away with these claims? Nice shirt though anyway.
